Peace Corps Notes

FOM Newsletter Spring 1997

Peace Corps has several suggestions of how you can help continue the volunteer tradition and how to "Bring the world back home."

World Wise Schools: usually in November, is a global education program linking volunteers in the field with over 4,500 classrooms across the US. There are many materials available from PC to help you take part in school activities that will "bring the world back home."

Sponsor a Peace Corps Project: with the Peace Corps Partnership Program. Groups, individuals, and organizations can sponsor grass-roots projects overseas to help improve the quality of life in the communities where Volunteers serve. Call 800.424.8580, ext. 2227, or email PCPP@peacecorps.gov.

Become a Peace Corps Fellow: by bringing your skills to under-served communities in the United States, after you have completed your Peace Corps service. Fellows can receive tuition benefits for advanced degrees from top universities in many fields. Call 800.424.8580, ext. 2259, or email Fellows@peacecorps.gov.

Hire an RPCV: if your company has a vacancy, or if you know someone who would be interested in hiring an RPCV. Peace Corps keeps a weekly job hotline at 800.424.8850, ext. 2284, email hotline@peacecorps.gov. For More Peace Corps Information: call 800.424.8580, or look up the Peace Corps Web Site.
